Submitting my first animation after almost a decade.

I've been watching animations and playing games through this site since I was about 10 years old. I made this account around 2010 when I got my first tablet thinking that "now I'd contribute with my first animation!".

..failing to take into account that I couldn't draw, I never got even close to complete an animation. Instead I struggled with getting better at drawing, majored art in highschool and then for the last 3 years(which really changed my life) I studied animation in Japan! Where I finally made this animation called "Vikings"(with some help from my lovely friends), hopefully you'll enjoy that.

Now after my graduation I'll start working as a inbetweener here in Japan, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to work on my own stuff but I will certainly try to upload more stuff to this website!

Impressive to really wait all this time before you actually tried your hand at something! Know my beginnings were way more, hmm, humble... so you live in Japan huh? Seems like a tough market to get into there considering how rooted into their culture such media is! Good luck and looking forward to more in the future!

Thank you! Don't know if "wait" is the proper way to word it rather than simple not being able to finish anything (lol).

Actually there's a lot of companies here in need of more animators right now so I don't think getting a job at an animation studio is too hard, but it seems like a lot of new people quit even during their first year due to bad salary and long work days(It's Japan).. We'll see how long I last before getting burned out but hopefully I'll learn a thing or two in the process!

Haha, well badly phrased, but still impressive having something like this as your first submission. :) I mean an AWARD on your first submission! Just that is pretty unusual.

Good to know. Yeah I was thinking people not raised into said culture might have a hard time keeping up, I've read some interviews with mangakas for example and... holy shit it seems intense! 6 hour weeks, 12 hours of work each day... minimum! Feels like you'd burn out fast. Hopefully that one job's a bit over the top even over there, though? Would be interesting to hear how it goes!

Well, at least it's gonna be 8 hours for me. Have heard some horror stories like that though!
Xebec is the name of the studio I'll be working at btw. I'll probably make some post about it once I actually work on something. ^^

Oh that's awesome! :D I've seen some of their stuff apparently, though didn't know them by name. Love Hina, Shaman King, D.N.Angel... other familiar names in the list too... good to know they start you off at moderate workload, at least. ;) Looking forward to it!
